Oaks Women's Club
The Oaks Women's Club will provide all Oaks Club women with the opportunity to meet and come together by encouraging involvement in social, philanthropic, educational, literary, artistic, and cultural endeavors.
The Oaks Women’s Club was founded in 1991 to offer women members the opportunity to pursue social, cultural, and philanthropic endeavors. A deep interest in community causes and charities has been a time-honored tradition of the Women's Club. Our members have designed a variety of philanthropic projects, including fashion shows, house tours, holiday boutiques, and auctions. In 2002, we were granted tax-exempt status, allowing contributions to our charitable events to be tax-deductible. The Oaks Women’s Club members published a cookbook, “Dining Under The Oaks,” featuring recipes from members. Sales from this book go to such philanthropic causes as a college scholarship fund we’ve established for Sarasota County high school seniors.
As the Oaks Women’s Club has grown to more than 400 members, the social options have grown, too. Today, the Women’s Club offers two book clubs, Bunco, Canasta, Mah Jongg, Dining Out, Florida Gardening, Hospice Floral Arranging, and The Lunch Bunch.
On the second Wednesday of every month, the Women’s Club hosts a luncheon and an inspired program so that members have the opportunity to meet as a large group. Another offering is our annual shopping trip to Naples.
