Club Staff

Jeff Hartigan, CCM, CCE
 --  General Manager and Chief Operating Officer

Jeff’s exposure to the world of operating a private club began as a young child as he is a second-generation club manager following in his father’s footsteps. Jeff began his career in Private Club Management with Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta, where he served in various clubhouse management positions and ultimately as the Town Club Manager. In wanting to move to Florida, Jeff served as the Assistant General Manager at Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club in Tampa. After falling in love with Florida’s west coast, Jeff made a career move to the Orlando area where he served as General Manager at Interlachen Country Club in Winter Park. Jeff graduated with distinction from the University of Victoria, in British Columbia, Canada with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He has been actively involved in the Club Management Association of America ( since 1997 serving on numerous state and national committees, including serving as state President of CMAA’s Florida Chapter in 2016. Jeff earned his Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation in 2007 and his Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation in 2018. Prior to working in the Club Industry, other experiences include: The Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia, The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, Ontario, The Hyatt Regency Vancouver, Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club in Coquitlam, British Columbia, and The Chiang Mai Orchid Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand. When not at the Club, he spends his time with his wife Stacey, their two daughters, Hadlyn and Hensley, and Moose, their four-legged child. As a family, they enjoy being back on the coast that they originally fell in love with and spend their leisure time enjoying being outdoors throughout Florida.

Tim Beckwith, PGA Master Professional
  --  Director of Golf

One of about 400 PGA Master Professionals in the world, Tim Beckwith is a skilled instructor and author of The Front Nine, a book about golf and life lessons. Born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Brooksville, Florida, Tim has worked in Orlando, Clearwater, Chicago, and Nashville. He holds Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from University of South Florida. As Director of Golf for The Oaks Club, Tim has received several awards including “Professional of the Year” for the North Florida PGA Section 2012, NFPGA Southwest Chapter “Professional of the Year” 2011 and 2013, and "Merchandiser of the Year" for the North Florida PGA Section 2010. Tim created a program called The PGA Professional Exchange, which offers opportunity to PGA members from the US  and Europe to visit the other. Tim lives in Sarasota with his wife, Jill, and son, Jackson.

Holly Farrell, CCM
 --  Director of Clubhouse Operations

Holly Farrell joined The Oaks Club team in November 2011. Prior to joining The Oaks Club, she worked for over six years at Callawassie Island, an exclusive, members-only club in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Similar to The Oaks Club, it is a 25-year-old, member-owned private club with over 600 members, five restaurants, two clubhouses, and a pool pavilion. Holly was responsible for all aspects of the clubhouse.

At The Oaks Club, Holly is responsible for overseeing the clubhouse operations, which include all food and beverage, valet, housekeeping, and the maintenance department. Holly is an active member with CMAA and is currently working on her CCM (Certified Club Manager). Holly's expertise in leadership, team building, and her commitment to member service will help maintain The Oaks Club as the premier club in Sarasota.

Susan Greene, MCMP, LCAM 
 --  Director of Membership and Marketing

A native of Akron, Ohio, Susan grew up in Memphis and Boston. After college, Susan settled in Memphis with a golf course architectural firm as a specification writer. This lead to her career in hospitality, in particular in Private Clubs.

Starting in 1988 as a development officer, she opened the Crescent Club in Memphis. While in Memphis, Susan was founding chairman of the Memphis Chapter of Women in Construction, was on the Board of the Executive Women’s Golf Association. Susan assumed the role as Regional Marketing Director in 1995 and was promoted to Vice President of Membership and Event Sales in 2001 for Club Corp. In late 2005, Susan retired from her position as VPMS to move with her husband to Jacksonville, FL and became the General Manager of the University Club. Her love for not-for profits led her to the University Club of Orlando where she served as the General Manager, but her passion for membership has lead her to The Oaks Club. A featured columnist for Boardroom Magazine (the official publication for the Association of Private Clubs and Directors), National President, Private Club Marketing Association, Susan is often called upon as a keynote speaker. She and her husband, Bobby have three children and two grandchildren. Her passion for building relationships in the private club industry is displayed by her humor, smile, and positive attitude.

Nick Kearns 
-- Director of Green and Grounds

Nick Kearns was previously with the Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club in Bradenton since 2005, and served as their Director of Golf Grounds, since 2009. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Superintendent at Laurel Oaks Country Club for two years. Nick also spent two years as an intern and a Turf Graduate at Augusta National Golf Club, in addition to being involved with the Masters Tournament for seven consecutive years. 

Nick graduated from the Southeast Community College in Beatrice, Nebraska with an Associates of Applied Science in Agriculture Business Management and Technology with an emphasis in Turfgrass Management. He has been actively involved in the Suncoast Golf Course Superintendents Association, the Florida Golf Course Superintendents Association, and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. Nick lives in Venice with wife, Kerry and two daughters, Addison and Anna.


Karen King - Director of Finance

  Karen brings over twenty years of hospitality management experience in the areas of finance, accounting, financial systems, and planning. Karen came to us from St. Clair Country Club located in Pittsburgh, where she was a member of their senior management team for more than fifteen years.

Karen has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh, PA; is a Certified Hospitality Account Executive (CHAE); and is a member and past president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP).

Karen brings a high level of financial expertise to The Oaks Club. She has played a pivotal role in successful multi-million dollar renovation projects; has built and implemented internal financial systems; has extensive knowledge and experience in financial planning, budgeting, financial audits, tax regulations, and other valuable expertise in the financial area.


James Pampinella 
-  Executive Chef
  Prior to The Oaks Club, Chef James was the Executive Chef of Interlachen Country Club in Winter Park, Florida and his resume also includes working at elite clubs such John's Island Club in Vero Beach and The Highlands Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina. He is an active member of the American Culinary Federation, has worked and trained with the United States Culinary Olympic Team, and has won multiple medals at the National Restaurant Association's culinary competitions held annually in Chicago. Chef James is proud to have mentored multiple chef apprentices who have since excelled in their own careers in the culinary world. In addition, he was an instructor in ice carving at Le Cordon Blue Culinary College of Culinary Arts in Orlando. Chef James is native of Florida and has spent most of his life in central Florida where he has developed a passion for golf and fishing. Since relocating to Sarasota, Florida, Chef James has donated his time to local culinary charity events and televsion appearances. While at The Oaks Club, Chef James has revamped the dining services, as well as re-designing the kitchen facilities. When not at the Club, he is spending time with his wife, Lesley and daughter, Hailey. 
Genny Pomatto
   --  Director of Human Resources
  Genny has more than twenty-five year of global human resources management experience in various industries - hospitality, financial, and federal government contracting.

Genny started her career in the U.S. Air Force, serving her country in Texas, Colorado, Delaware, and Germany. She attended St. Leo College and Chadwick University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Genny is an active member of Sarasota-Manatee Human Resources Association (SHRA), and has been certified by The Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).

Before moving to Florida, Genny and her husband, Tim, lived in the Washington, DC area for several years, where Genny served as Vice President of Human Resources and Security at U.S. Postal Service Federal Credit Union.

When not at the Club, Genny spends her time with her family, which includes kids, grandkids, and beloved rescue dogs.

Tom Whitten, Jr
.  --  Director of Tennis

A member of the USTA’s elite High Performance Coaching Program, Tom Whitten Jr., is an accomplished tennis player and instructor. Boasting a 5.0 NTRP rating, Tom has directed hundreds of sanctioned tennis events and was a 2010 USPTA National Convention speaker. As Director of Tennis for The Oaks Club, he has formed and supervised all aspects of the tennis program for more than 1,000 members. Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Virginia, a USPTA Professional 1 Rating, and is a certified professional member of the Professional Tennis Registry. Tom is certified by the US Racquet Stringers Association and lives in Sarasota with his wife, Allison, and their two children, Caroline and Tre.

Stephen Sefchick - Director of Fitness

  Stephen Sefchick is our new Director of Fitness. Stephen has been in the fitness industry for over 16 years, most recently as the Fitness Director at Sea Pines Country Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina. His formal education includes a Master’s Degree in Science with a focus on Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Tennessee, and a second Master’s Degree in Science Administration with focus on Leadership from West Florida University. Stephen is certified as a Golf Fitness Specialist, a Tennis Performance Trainer, an Exercise Physiologist, a Corrective Exercise Specialist, and a Personal Trainer.
