Oaks Women's Club
The Oaks Women’s Club will provide all Oaks Club women with the opportunity to come together in a variety of social, philanthropic, educational, literary, artistic, and cultural activities.
The Oaks Women’s Club was established in 1991 with both social and philanthropic goals. Contributions to local charities has been a tradition of our club since its early days. Over the years, the imagination of our members has inspired a variety of philanthropic projects, including fashion shows, holiday boutiques, auctions, and more.
In 2001 we established a scholarship fund for Sarasota County high school senior women continuing their education. The Philanthropy Committee creates a variety of events to raise these funds, and bring our members together. Since its inception, the Oaks Women’s Club Scholarship Fund has awarded $320,000 to 95 deserving young women.
As a social organization, we have monthly luncheons, from October through April. These luncheons feature informative and enlightening guest speakers, with delicious, seasonal menus created by Chef. As the Oaks Women’s Club has grown to over 425 members, so have the variety of committees and special interest groups. A sampling of our special interest clubs includes two books clubs, bunco, canasta, mah jongg, flower arranging, and both lunch and dinner dining out groups.
